The manufacturing is practically gone in our nation. The good thing is that Americans are resourceful so we found another way to keep the economy going. We turned our economy into a service economy. So then we decide to send customer service and what not to other countries. I mean when you call customer service you are calling long distance huh. How did that happen? Then we found other service sectors jobs to combat that. What did we do we let illegal immigration get totally out of hand. That was not enough so we start pumping out welfare and making it worth more then work. So our teens are having children just so they can get their own apartment and so they can get a leg up on having even more children for better section 8 housing. SSI also pays much better and lets not forget illegal aliens are also entitled to get these benefits. ( for my critics their children, like its not going to the mother, yea right ) Anyone who works hard and tries to make it is punished for it by increased taxes. Not really. The argument that welfare is more attractive than working is just bunk. If that were true, nobody would work. Just look at say, a doctor and a welfare recipient. Which has the better quality of life?

It does seem that way. I think it's death by a thousand cuts by thousands of greed miesters looking out for only number one - and it all adds up to a bleeding corpse. People don't have that sense of, or the insight to think about whether their individual actions matter to the whole body politic. Enron is a great example in that the core of their business management were all corrupt, but didn't think that their individual corruption would bring the whole house of cards down.
